When you step into Gatlinburg SkyLift Park, you’re in for a real treat. It’s not just one thing—it’s a whole experience packed with activities and breathtaking scenery. Here’s what awaits you
Your SkyPark adventure begins the moment you hop on the Gatlinburg SkyLift. Originally built in 1954 and modernized over the years, this scenic chairlift whisks you away from the Gatlinburg streets up to the breathtaking views of Crockett Mountain. As you ascend, you’ll get a bird’s-eye view of downtown Gatlinburg, the surrounding forests, and the iconic Smoky Mountains.
Get ready for the highlight of your visit: the Gatlinburg SkyBridge. Stretching nearly 700 feet across a deep valley, this pedestrian suspension bridge is one of the longest in North America. At the highest point, you’ll be walking 150 feet above the forest floor! And if that’s not thrilling enough, wait until you reach the center where glass-floor panels reveal the stunning drop below.
Need a breather after the bridge? Head to the SkyDeck. This open area at the summit has rocking chairs, benches, and even a cozy firepit. It’s the perfect place to kick back and take in the views—downtown Gatlinburg twinkling below and the endless peaks of the Smokies all around. Bring your camera because this spot is a photo goldmine, day or night.
If you’re up for a little exploring, the SkyTrail is calling. It’s got 1.5 miles of paths, including an elevated boardwalk with signs about the park’s history—like the 2016 wildfires—and a natural trail winding through the woods. Along the way, you’ll find the Tulip Tower, a 70-foot structure with rope bridges leading to 4 viewing platforms. Named after the tough Tulip Poplar tree, it gives you unique angles of the SkyBridge and the mountains beyond. This is a great way to experience the Smoky Mountains at your own pace.
The newest addition to SkyPark, Clayton’s Landing, is an expansive viewing area with comfortable seating, stunning mountain views, and plenty of space to unwind. This is the perfect spot to take in the beauty of the Smokies while soaking up the peaceful atmosphere.
